“Start by doing what’s necessary, then do what’s possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”
St Francis of Assisi
Hello! My name is Veronica Otero.
I’m a UK based independent photographer whose documentary work focuses on culture, identity, environment, health and human rights. In 2017, I graduated from London College of Communication with a first class honours in BA (Hons) Photojournalism and Documentary photography. My passion for photography is combined with discovery, cross-cultural communication, and a desire to spread awareness about global issues. I also strongly believe in giving back through the power of community engagement and education. I’m curious about life itself. I’m driven by cultures, in particular indigenous and minorities people, which is my main area of focus. I love meeting new people and their environment, costumes, rituals, trying different foods…
The human experience is dynamic, unique and wholly unpredictable - it’s an exciting challenge to explore it through the medium of photography, but one of the most important things I love about photography is to use it as a tool to promote social justice, therefore I always bear in mind the importance of taking the right picture for the right reason.
Thanks,
Vero
